A major release of the nifty text editor with some cool features!
Change Log... (It's long!)
> A fresh new modern design and icon
> Beautiful new ‘first launch’ interface including a tour!
> Jot remembers settings; email login credentials, settings, etc…
> Drag and drop support
> High DPI Support
> Closing Jot is handled completely differently and Jot is aware of edits and won’t show an exit confirmation unless the document has been changed. You can save the file from the confirmation as well.
> Find and replace tool
> Window Management is far less buggy and works well when changing between different window modes
> Smaller program file size (about 25% smaller)
> A new, very extensive and customizable tool that locks Jot’s editor down to prevent public users from changing text, settings, using certain features of jot, or closing Jot. Perfect for public computers and kiosks.
> You can now click on a hyperlink to open it
> Export your document as plain text
> Keyboard navigation is greatly improved in menus and dialogs, along with many accessibility features throughout
> New “System Colors” theme that allows for dialogs and tools to work better in high contrast or custom themes
> Autosave now saves to the current file instead of a separate file
> You can now define the autosave interval
> A quick, simple and space-efficient calculator that lets you do simple calculations on the fly, and is tightly integrated into Jot
> A converter that converts binary to text and vice versa!
> Separate ‘save as’ and ‘save’ buttons
> You can pin items from your clipboard using the re-vamped Clipboard Viewer
> Choose between male and female voice for text to speech
> If you start text to speech when text is selected, it will read that selection. If nothing is selected, it will just read the whole document like before.
> Drag the borderless window around using the edges of the window
> Ability to set all of the dialogs and tools to be semi-transparent
> Editor Margins give you space between the window border of Jot and the document for easier viewing
> A new documentation browser with refreshed support articles to neatly put all of the documentation in one place
> Jot’s email functionality is far more reliable and prevents you from accidentally loosing an email message.
> A much improved and simplified dialog is displayed after a screenshot is taken
> More preset highlighter colors available, including custom highlighter color
> New “Automatic” page color and font color that are changed by system themes (for accessibility), as well as more preset colors
> Vastly improved command tool, complete with themes and window options
> Menu sizes have been refined, and the large and giant sizes are more palatable and logical than before
> Switching out of sticky note mode restores the window size before entering sticky note mode
> A plethora of new menu icons (the paste icon finally looks good after being revised many times)
> Color dialogs now initially display the custom color chooser when opened
> Option to reset all settings
> A ton of subtle changes throughout that make Jot far more professional, reliable, stable, and far less glitchy and buggy than before
